Ignacio Hernandez

Co-Chair for the Climate Change and Energy Group, ICCA

My career has always focused on the improvement of chemical processes.  From directly working with manufacturing on the reduction of their carbon intensity to developing energy management systems to monitor the usage of energy and emissions, I have always been passionate about helping the chemical industry to move forward.  With a chemical engineering degree and master in polymers my personal objective is to help industry tackle two of the main problems we face:  climate change and plastic waste. Having worked in various chemical companies (ICI, AkzoNobel, Nouryon and Shell Chemicals), in my actual role in ICCA as Co-Chairman for the Climate Change and Energy Group, I provide support to the different regions to develop the right policies that will help the chemical industry reduce their carbon footprint and move towards carbon neutrality.
