Sherif Hafez

Supply Director, Middle East & Africa, Mars

Sherif Hafez is the Middle East Africa (MEA) Supp Director for Mars and is a member of the ME leadership team. He has more than 23 years of soli multinational FMCG experience leading the end-to-en Supply Organization including Manufacturing, Industria Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management Procurement across diverse markets from the Midd East, Asia Pacific, Europe & CIS.

Sherif joined Mars GCC in Dubai in 2002 as a Projec Engineer, in 2004 he moved to Industrial Enginnering a the Supply Activity Industrial Engineer before taking th role of Engineering Manager for Mars GCC. In 2009 h assumed the role of Regional Commercia Procurement) Manager for the GCC, responsible for all procurement activities for Mar CC including both directs & indirect goods. In 2011 Sherif moved to Jeddah where h ssumed his role as Project Leader, responsible for the set-up of the first Mar manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia and leading the construction of the new Mar tate of the art, LEED GOLD factory in King Abdullah Economic City. Moreover, he lec The Sustainability agenda for Mars in the Middle East and managed to step change the Carbon footprint of Mars factories in the Middle East through significant improvemen n energy intensity, water intensity and achieving zero waste to landfill.

In 2014 Sherif returned to Dubai where he assumed the role of Engineering & Sustainability Director for Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa (APMENA) to lead the engineering function across 8 sites within the APMENA region. In 2017 Sheri elocated to London where he was appointed as the Regional Engineering Director - Europe & CIS for Mars Wrigley, leading the engineering function across 15 sites within Europe & CIS.

Sherif has a strong track record in engaging and developing big teams through complex projects. He is also a winner of the 2009 Mars Global Make the Difference Award in Innovation for the implementation of a new chocolate making process.

Prior to joining Mars, Sherif worked for Procter & Gamble in different Production & Engineering roles. Sherif holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the American University in Cairo, Egypt.
