Ana Munoz

Chief Legal Officer, NEOM Green Hydrogen Company

Ana Muñoz is the Chief Legal Officer at NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC), the world’s largest producer of green hydrogen at scale. Ana assumed the role of CLO in June 2022, bringing 23 years of experience in complex legal practice across private practice and in-house roles, including almost a decade in the Middle East where she predominantly advised on large, complex infrastructure projects, most recently in the oil and gas industry.  

 

Prior to joining NGHC, Ana was sole project counsel for the multi-billion-dollar North Field Expansion Project in the State of Qatar. She aims to leverage her experiences collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams of leading subject matter experts on major projects to provide pragmatic, commercially sensible advice that makes the legal function a valued contributor to business success.  

 

A firm believer in the role of corporate legal and compliance functions in promoting sustainability, Ana is excited about the opportunity to establish the policies and procedures that enable NGHC to deliver on its promise as a leader in the global transition to a carbon-free future. She is committed to safely delivering the world’s largest plant to produce green hydrogen at scale in accordance with the Environmental, Social and Governance practices that will make the project truly sustainable. 

 

Ana holds 2 BA degrees (Political Science ’96 and English with a Minor in Asian Studies ’12) from Florida International University in Miami, Florida and a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law (’99). She is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar and admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. 

 

Outside of work, Ana is passionate about the history of knowledge, literature and the arts, and is an avid collector of books on these and other subjects. She enjoys road trips, city walks and live music.  Cuban-American by birth and a nomadic world citizen at heart, Ana is the proud mom of four kids that keep her curious. She also hopes to one day write a book of her own to add to her library.
