Many private sector companies are providing strong support to adaptation by devising and funding projects; this workshop will explore whether more can be achieved by working differently. Working in real partnership with a range of other organisations, and providing a broader engagement and suite of inputs - vision, skills, creativity, and resources - could bring greater rewards, particularly for adaptation in developing countries.

This workshop explored the true potential of the private sector in adaptation programming. The workshop built on the experience of the Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance, a multi-sectoral partnership where public and private sector skillsets are leveraged to enhance community flood resilience. Participants delved into interactive discussions to explore how their organizations can deploy their unique skills to avert, minimize and address the impacts of climate change. Learning from your professional experience and insights, we dived into the opportunities and challenges of private sector engagement in adaptation and will design practical recommendations for organizations wanting to engage in this space. We were thrilled to host ambitious participants to catalyze climate change adaptation programming. With the WCS and COP27, there is a unique opportunity to combine this with many adaptation activities including from the Resilience Hub and others
