Workshop 2B
Gold is unique in its dual role as a commodity and a financial asset, and this has some quite significant implications for the diverse roles it plays in society and finance. Stakeholders and investors are increasingly seeking information regarding gold's purpose and relevance in a world being reshaped by climate change considerations. John Mulligan, Director & Climate Change Lead at the World Gold Council, will discuss the progress made by the gold industry in better understanding and addressing climate-related risks, and how this underpins the potential role for gold as a climate risk mitigation asset.
There will also be additional brief contributions from sustainability and investment leaders commenting on their perceptions of the key drivers of sectoral transformation in response to the climate crisis.
