Gold and gold mining plays a pivotal role in many developing and frontier economies, particularly in Africa, and this has implications for how these countries may reduce emissions whilst building resilience against more frequent and severe climate impacts.

  

The World Gold Council, in the company of industry leaders and stakeholders, offered an overview of the gold sector’s potential contributions to both global decarbonisation and local adaptation and resilience.
