Tim Collins

Head of Policy & Regulation


Tim is SIMEC’s UK Head of Energy Policy and project lead for its 168MW Glenshero windfarm in the Scottish Highlands.

Tim started his career at the energy regulator for Great Britain, Ofgem, before moving to a policy and regulatory management role at Centrica. He played a key role developing the UK Government’s flagship Electricity Market Reform (EMR) programme, which introduced the low carbon Contracts for Difference (CfD) renewable support scheme, electricity Capacity Market and Carbon Price Support (CPS) levy. He joined SIMEC in 2018.

Tim holds a Bachelor’s degree from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a Master’s degree from University College London (UCL).
