Dana Barsky is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse in the Sustainability Strategy, Advisory and Finance Department (SSAF), based in London. She is the Global Head of Sustainable Finance, where she is responsible for defining the sustainability frameworks that drive Credit Suisse’s green, transition, social bond and sustainable lending businesses. She also focuses on bespoke capital market transactions in areas such as blue bonds and wildlife conservation.
Prior to serving in this capacity, Dana was the Chief Operating Officer and Head of Sustainable Products and Partnerships for SSAF. In her COO capacity, she helped build and oversee the activities of the group. In her products and partnerships capacity, Dana worked with the private and public sectors to create sustainable investment products and promote and finance projects that help close the funding gaps in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Dana initially joined Credit Suisse through Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in 1995 in the mergers and acquisitions group within investment banking. During her career, she advised companies across a wide variety of sectors including technology, consumer products, healthcare, industrial products, and retail. Dana also served as Head of U.S. Defense, where she advised companies involved in unsolicited takeover proposals. Dana left Credit Suisse for a period of time where she assisted the founding partners of Sagent Advisors in launching an M&A boutique that was subsequently acquired by Daiwa Securities. Additionally, Dana was a Managing Director at Golden Seeds, an investment firm focused on opportunities for early-stage women-led businesses.
Dana graduated from The George Washington University and received her MBA with Distinction in 1995 from Harvard Business School.
