The development of smart cities enabled and powered by digital technologies is set to be one of the crowning achievements of societies worldwide in the 21st century. Employing the latest technological advancements can help create liveable cities with an improved urban environment, infrastructure and wellbeing of its inhabitants. In this session smart-city experts will share examples of successful public–private partnerships from around the world. What are the challenges associated with providing funding, technical know-how, and innovation that complements public-sector efforts? What innovations are needed to create the sustainable city of tomorrow?
