Matt Christensen is Global Head of Sustainable and Impact Investing at Allianz Global Investors. He is in charge of accelerating the growth of Impact Investing as part of the company’s growing private markets platform; leads the continued integration of ESG factors across AllianzGI’s existing range of public markets products, including stewardship activities; and supports the development of new sustainable investment products.
Matt Christensen joined AllianzGI from AXA Investment Management, where he had been Global Head of Responsible Investment and Impact Strategy since 2011. Before this, he was the Founding Executive Director of the think-tank Eurosif (European Sustainable Investment Forum), Europe's leading policy organization on sustainable investment, where he worked for nine years. Matt started his career in 1997 as a strategy consultant at Braxton Associates/Deloitte Consulting. He then served as Director of Business Development at Motley Fool from 1999 to 2001. Matt has held positions on the boards of alternative investment impact funds, including a private equity fund listed on the London Stock Exchange, and as vice president of one of the world's largest microfinance funds. Matt holds MBA and MA degrees from the University of Pennsylvania - Wharton.
